of C.S. Lewis & J.R.R. Tolkien

Linlathen Lecture 2017
June 22nd, 7:30 pm
with Inklings scholar Dr. Jason Lepojärvi
J.R.R. Tolkien & C.S. Lewis – Lord of the Rings & Narnia – two brilliant Oxford professors and careful thinkers who changed the modern world with their creative fiction. Where do their ideas converge, and where do they differ? A Protestant and a Catholic with deep resonances and deep differences – in particular, how did they approach relationships not only in their male-oriented work places, but outside of that structure, with the women in their lives? Come listen to Dr. Lepojärvi, recently himself a teacher at Oxford University and currently the Visiting Scholar at Regent College, Vancouver, as he delves deeper into the thinking of these two iconic authors.

Location: Hillside Reform Presbyterian, 273 Almonte St., Almonte
